Head of National Hotels Sales (Flexible location UK Wide)

Our client, a prominent UK-wide hotel group, is searching for an inspirational and experienced National Hotel Sales Director. If you have a proven track record in leading teams to achieve strategic sales growth, within the hospitality sector, we want to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales Leadership: Devise and implement a core sales strategy focused on sourcing, driving, and growing revenue and profit, particularly within the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) market segment.
  • Team Management: Lead and inspire a team of Regional Directors of Sales (RDOS), fostering a positive, proactive culture and strong team spirit. Communicate effectively to ensure seamless execution of plans and achievement of targets.
  • Target Focus: Drive a consistent focus on targets through daily communication, incentives, and reporting of leads, conversions, and sales. Ensure RDOS understand their accountability and share best practices.
  • Strategic Review: Conduct 6 and 12-month reviews of the overall strategy, working with the RDOS team to monitor results and revise objectives as needed to stimulate alternative demand channels.
  • Market Proactivity: Stay ahead of international market trends and ensure timely contact with potential clients to capture significant inbound market share.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize targeted production data to task the team with securing new business and increasing business from existing accounts.
  • Client Representation: Act as a confident and charismatic ambassador for the group at high-level meetings with clients.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Group Sales Director and other key teams within the business, sharing relevant sales information and insights.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Direct and manage the forecasting process in collaboration with the Revenue Team. Participate actively in the preparation of the annual Sales Plan, quarterly updates, and the hotels' annual Budgets.



  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior sales role, ideally within the hospitality industry.
  • Leadership: Inspirational leadership skills with the ability to drive a proactive, target-focused culture.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to ensure cohesive and effective team operations.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to devise and implement comprehensive sales strategies and adapt them based on market trends and performance data.
  • Client Focus: Strong presence and charisma to represent the group at high-level client meetings.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
