Job Details:

Talent Focus Executive Search has been retained by the, £50m+ turnover, technical and learning & development training business of a multi-national organisation to recruit a high calibre Head of Commercial.  This is a key role as the company continues to expand its blended training solutions to an increasingly varied client base.  The role can be based anywhere in the UK and will require frequent travel to the company head office and existing / potential clients.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Company responsibility for sales and marketing activities in UK.
  • Create and strengthen relations to customers and key companies and persons within the business in order to ensure business and knowledge to and about the company.
  • Building of / and maintenance of the Sales & Marketing Function.
  • Responsible for developing sales objectives, business plans, strategies and advertising.
  • Responsible for planning and achieving overall sales objectives.
  • Responsible for establishing marketing strategies to meet organisational objectives.
  • Responsible for evaluating customer research, market conditions and research, competitor data & analysis and implementing marketing plan changes as needed.
  • Responsible for making recommendations to management regarding opportunities to maximize sales by new initiatives and by identifying and analysing new business areas.
  • Ensure proper reporting to accounting regarding the economic impact of ongoing sales activities.
  • Ensure that all offers and proposals are co-ordinated with Operations, before acceptance of tasks – both in relation to facility and instructor resources, and to price.
  • Co – responsible for developing and evaluating new product ideas, with or without customers and / or instructors.
  • Responsible for having the overall overview on customer contacts, proposals etc.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and keeping sales procedures and the Customer Relationship System (CRMS) for the organization.
  • Responsible for managing or supervising internal projects as pointed out by the Managing Director.
  • Preparing the sales and marketing sections of the monthly reports.
  • Develop function through planning, coordination and manage staff, including performance appraisal (PA).
  • Assume assigned responsibilities in the event of inspections by authorities.


  • Make suggestions for improvements and cost savings.
  • Ensure that in all matters – prior to decision – an economical and business like assessment and evaluation is made to ensure that all work is carried out with the utmost efficiency and the best economical result.
  • Render a professional service to all customers.
  • Ensure that established quality parameters are fulfilled.
  • Ensure relevant flow of information to management and to other relevant parties takes place.
  • Prepare work procedures/instructions and work routines.
